This website is a joint initiative between the Victorian WorkCover Authority (WorkSafe Victoria), the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).
The privacy statement explains our policy for handling personal information which you may provide to us when you access and interact with this website. The privacy statement is consistent with Victorian Government policy and legislation. We are committed to achieving the highest standards in the protection of privacy and in our handling of personal and health information. We are required by law to take reasonable steps to let people know the sort of information we hold, the purposes for which we collect it, and how we collect, hold, use and disclose that information.
Any information provided, including identification of individuals, will be used only for the purpose/s intended and where the intention includes confidentiality, information will be treated as such unless otherwise required by law.

The website has been established to provide the Victorian Community with information reflecting the current Victorian Government information and guidance with regard to the safe management, removal and disposal of asbestos, and the rights and responsibilities of homeowners, employers and other parties with respect to Victorian legislation in relation to asbestos.
Emailing us in relation to this website
When you send us an email, the contents of your email and your email address may be retained by WorkSafe Victoria, the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services and the Environment Protection Authority Victoria and are generally retained by us for only as long as is necessary to respond to your inquiry. However, they may be retained for longer if you consent, or where we believe we are required or authorised by law to retain the information for a longer period.
We may use your email address for any purpose for which you provide it. We may also use it to respond to feedback given to us about our website and our services, to provide you with any information you request, to confirm receipt of emails you have sent to us or if we need to contact you for any other reason.
