Illegal disposal carries significant penalties.

What do you need help with?

I need to transport asbestos waste from my home

Asbestos removal work is best performed by licensed asbestos removalists, who are appropriately trained to perform the removal work safely.

You can transport small amounts yourself if it’s from your household, you are transporting it in your own vehicle and its properly packaged. Check with your disposal facility for their requirements. Find a landfill authorised to accept asbestos waste and call ahead to confirm they’ll accept it.

I need to transport asbestos waste from a workplace or commercial site

Asbestos from commercial or trade sources is classified as reportable priority waste. Strict waste duties apply. You must make sure the asbestos waste is going to a landfill that is authorised to receive industrial asbestos waste before you allow the waste to be transported. You must also make sure that the waste is tracked and that your waste transporter has an EPA permission to transport it.
