Managing asbestos

If the asbestos-containing material (ACM) is in good condition and left undisturbed, it is unlikely that asbestos fibres will be released into the air, so the risk to health is extremely low. When there is no risk of damage or deterioration which can cause non-friable ACM to become friable, it is safer to leave it fixed or installed and review its condition over time.
